Flashcard hero ordered flashcard9/17/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() At this point in 'rock history,' the Master had seemed to be forgotten, while global ponces and toffs started to manufacture this new-wave of old-wave rock with modern production (i.e. Terrorists had demolished New York, the Yanks schlepped everyone into another lie-war, Right-Wing cunts were running the world, what else was new?Įnter Heads Roll. Whose heads? LCD Soundsystem's heads? The Strokes' lead singer? MES' last version of the Fall? Dickheads? Fuck them all, they gotta roll! The mid-'00's seemed to be a bit of a dead zone for MES' career, music-wise. His previous bunch of albums were going in a more electro route, and this didn't seem to jack into all the electro that was around at the time. ![]() He was getting terrible press for punch-ups on USA tours and Fall biographies portrayed him as a total cunt and drunkard. He even wrote his own autobiography, which espoused what appeared to be some controversial truths on the zeitgeist of the UK. Many thought the Fall as a band might be finished, with MES destined to become just another old-English rock-fart on the UK variety TV-and-satellite radio wagon. Alas, he rolled, or more accurately ROCKED on, heads. The album kicks off with a countryish sounding oompa-loompa called "Ride Away." USA, Country music, shit, 'nothing to do with me,' he says. Of course, after some random noise, we hear an oscillating rave-soccer anthem synth, dirty indie-guitar, tight drum beat, and collectively LIGHT UP a "Pacifying Joint" - a MASSIVE tune!! Almost the exact same soccer-anthem electro riff kicks off "What About Us" - why change anything when yer already having so much fun? "I am a robber from East Germany, I was very happy," sings our wise narrator, why should we question it.? England, at this stage, was roped into the Euro. MES would more than likely have hated that- his beer would have become more expensive, and there were all these cheap Polish and East German labourers cleaning the toilet at his local pub. Run down the stairs and right beneath the wall where "He Will Set Us Free" is written you will find 3 Bacon Soups (3). On your right will be 1 Audio Log (1) from Sammy Lawrence. Go down the hall to your left and follow it around, wading through the knee-high ink. Once you make it to the other side look left and notice a flashing light on the wall. Grab the 20 Bacon Soups (23) from all 3 sections of the shelf (jumping and angling will be necessary!) and turn to your right. Interact with the machine with the 3 flashing lights on it, return to the flashing light where we found the horde of Bacon Soup cans and flip that switch. Now retrace your steps through the ink and when you see your first Audio Log of the level, interact with the box on the right side of the room, located beside the "Train Trouble" poster, and interact with the switch. While facing this box, turn around to see 2 more coffins, and on the right of that alcove is your 3rd and final box to open to reveal your final switch. Once all 3 switches are flipped go back through the ink and interact with the machine again. The lights won't be flashing so now it will open the shutter door.Ĭut down the barricade and make a sharp right down the stairs. Henry will mention that he has to drain the lower level first, so turn to your right and interact with the lever in the wall to restore power to the area. When you leave the stairwell you'll see 1 Audio Log (2), once again made by Sammy Lawrence, sitting on the left of the Music Department mural. As you approach, however you'll meet our first real threat: Searchers. These guys are the basic enemies and while they aren't too tough with an axe in your hand, you can be overwhelmed if you're not careful. ![]()
